DOGS ASYLUM AND NEW DUMP NEAR CEMETERY
Wild asylum for stray dogs has been for years in "Deveti juni" street near New Cemetery. Members of Society for animals protection in Nis are taking care about the dogs asylum. This area does not have any appropriate sanitarian conditions for keeping dogs, it is not equipped, dogs do not have regularly made boxes and some dogs are not even with belts. In immediate surrounding are also family houses where it is not possible to live in for the smell and dogs barking. Jelena Kocic, voluntary of the Society for animals protection in Nis who Palilula delegation found at the very location, says that at the moment there are 330 dogs in the asylum that they are taking care of and feed them regularly. The food is provided thanks to temporary donations which Society gets from the abroad. Miomir Kostic, vet, in time of this inspection supervision, on the position of engaged person was completing the dogs vaccinations. Current state at the terrain is not giving us the impression that this space has special conditions for animas keeping. The state of wild asylum for stray dogs after the estimation of the president of Municipality Palilula Boban Dzunic represents the problem for the whole city so in this context it should be urgently solved. About this we will inform the Mayor of Nis PhD Zoran Perisic said Dzunic. The state should also help those citizens who in humanitarian purposes give their own estates and take the stray dogs off the streets. It is necessary to provide free sterilization and vaccination of the animals abandoned and the education for the citizens how to treat the animals and how not to jeopardize the surrounding. It is also given by EU standards. But, what to do with those how are not taking care of their own pets and just let them to streets? How to make sanctions irresponsible and how to solve this problem? Evidently is that there are people and especially are children in bad situation who are afraid of many dogs in the streets. Because of all this, it is emphasized in Palilula, should be and must be part of broad social action.
